The memory is a basic component of the computer, without which any operation becomes impossible. The memory is in the form of electronic components having the capacity to retain information (the information being of binary type, 0 or 1).
Each 'bit' memory is composed of a transistor (which reads or writes a value) coupled to a capacitor (which holds the binary state: 1 when it is loaded and 0 when it is discharged). The memory is organized in rows and columns. At each intersection there is a bit of memory.
